SportDOG recently added the following remote training collars to their line-up: the SportDOG FieldTrainer 425 and SportDOG FieldTrainer 425S (SD-425 and SD-425S, respectively), the SportDOG WetlandHunter 425 (SD-425CAMO) and the SportDOG SportHunter 825 (SD-825). Each one uses a lightweight collar that only weighs 3.3 oz. (including strap). The systems can be fully charged in just 2 hours and each one can be expanded to control up to 3 collars at a time by using additional Add-a-Dog collars. The systems have a variety of modes to choose from that rely on momentary ‘nick’ and continuous static correction, vibration, tone or a combination of them in order to achieve optimum training results.

Each system is specifically designed to fit a certain scenario. The FieldTrainer 425 is the standard training collar, ideal for use outside in the yard, out in the field, up to a range of 500 yards. The FieldTrainer 425S variant provides the same features, but is capable of stronger stimulation options for large breeds or stubborn dogs. The WetlandHunter 425 is best suited for the waterfowl hunting environment. It comes equipped with the same features as the other models but also includes a Realtree Max-4 camo finish so that the dog can blend in better with its surroundings. The SportHunter 825 is perfect for controlling hunting dogs over a larger radius as it has a range of ½ mile.

Each system is compatible with all e-collar systems from SportDOG (except for SD-105 and SD-105S). They use DRYTEK Waterproof Design Technology so that they are waterproof up to a depth of 25 feet. They can also be used with out UplandHunter Accessory Beeper (SD-BEEP).

You don’t need to call your local Invisible Fence dealer to add or replace a collar on your current system. This collar does not require any programming what so ever. All you need to do is determine whether your need a 7K or 10K version. To find out what frequency your transmitter is set on,  simply remove the lid off your transmitter and locate the SW1 switch on the circuit board. It will either be set in the up position (10K) or in the down position (7K).

We have been getting lots of request for the PetSafe RFA-463 battery charging adapter for the PetSafe Stay and Play Wireless Dog Fence Collar model PIF00-12918. The reason for this high demand is because of these two reasons below.

1) When you purchase an extra PetSafe Stay + Play collar separately, it does not include a charging adapter. The reason PetSafe decided not to include the charger is because you already get one with the Stay + Play system and its capable of charging two collars at the same time. This can be a problem if you have more than 2 dog collars to charge.

2) There are so many people that currently own the original PetSafe Wireless Dog Fence model PIF-300 that are sick and tired of buying disposable RFA-67 batteries for their PIF-275-19 collars. Since both the PetSafe PIF-300 system and the new PetSafe PIF00-12917 system function on the same frequency, that makes the new rechargeable collar compatible with the older wireless systems with no programming required! Unfortunately, the collar does not include the charging adapter.

With all that being said, the PetSafe RFA-463 charger is now available for purchase separately!

PetSafe recently released a new Stay + Play wireless rechargeable collar model PIF00-12918 that is compatible with your PIF-300 system and IF-100 transmitter.

The battery in the collar can be recharged in only 2-3 hours. As you can see in the comparison picture above, the new receiver is more streamlined. PetSafe recommends this collar for small dog breeds over 5 pounds all the way up to giant breeds like Great Danes. It features the same 6 levels of correction (5 static plus tone-only) to fit most dog personalities and the receiver is fully waterproof.

The collar includes a quick release buckle with an adjustable strap from 6-23 inches so please make sure you measure your dogs neck before ordering.

Unfortunately, the new rechargeable collar does not include a power adapter to charge the collar battery so you will need to order the PetSafe RFA-463 charging adapter as well.
